Meet Jonathan, our part-time barista and a local fixture who has lived in the neighbourhood his whole life.
If you enjoy a good chat, ask him about cinema. Jonathan is a major movie buff with a deep love for old horror films. When he isn’t crafting your favourite coffee, he is likely behind a camera as an aspiring director (). He is currently working on his second horror short film, watch out, Stephen King.

Meet Stephen (), our incredible Manager and Lead Barista. Stephen has been a pillar of our team since the very first day we opened our doors. Originally from Australia, a land renowned for its massive coffee culture, he brings that expert passion to every cup he pours.
But he’s more than just a master of the brew. Stephen is our amazing resident handyman who keeps the shop running smoothly. When he’s not behind the counter, you’ll likely spot him on his bike; he’s an avid daily cyclist who brings that same energy to the café every morning.
Over the years, he’s truly become an ‘honorary Greek’ to the Kafe Dáki family. His dedication to the craft and his connection to our Oakwood neighbours are what make every visit special. 🤗 We’re Back!
After yesterday’s break-in, the damage, and the loss, we’re incredibly grateful to say that Kafe Dáki is open again today and more eager than ever to welcome you back!
This quick turnaround wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support from our community. Huge thanks to the officers at 13 Division, Armando from Thrive Construction, and especially our incredible baristas, Stephen and Jonathan, who rolled up their sleeves and worked hard to clean up the mess and get the café back in shape.
We’re also deeply touched by the outpouring of love from our customers, neighbours, fellow small business owners, friends and family. Your messages, offers to help, and kind words reminded us why we love being part of this community. 🫶🏼
Our entrance door is still being repaired and currently has a temporary plywood covering - thank you for your patience as we finish up the last details.
