Pancer's Original Deli Pancer’s Original Deli is a must-visit spot in Toronto for lovers of traditional deli fare. It was founded by Moe Pancer and his son Stan in 1957, and has since become a popular meeting place for various groups, including movie stars and rock bands such as RUSH and Anvil. Notably, comedian John Candy also frequented the Deli. Most of the delicious recipes at Pancer’s were passed down from generations and came from Europe. The spices used for meats were brought in from Europe as well. The restaurant continues to thrive today under the leadership of Rose and Moe Pancer's grandchildren, along with two great-grandchildren.
