I started making kiri-mochi so people could easily enjoy delicious mochi at home.
When I was in Japan, I used to grill it in a frying pan and eat it simply with soy sauce and nori.
Here in Canada, people enjoy it in so many different ways. It makes me very happy when customers share how they’ve tried it🥰

With Christmas just around the corner, I made ours a little extra festive at home today. 🎄
I hope you'll try some tasty new ways to enjoy mochi.

Hanabira Mochi, (ume plum petal mochi), is a traditional Japanese sweet enjoyed during the New Year to celebrate the arrival of spring🌸🌸🌸⁡

It is typically filled with white bean paste blended with miso, and traditionally includes burdock root inside the mochi. For a more approachable flavor in Canada, we’ve added orange peel🍊 instead.⁡

The bright citrus acidity pairs beautifully with the savory notes of miso, creating a well-balanced and unique taste experience.⁡
