Back to school is officially here… and so is the question every parent and caregiver is asking: how do we make the mornings a little easier?✨
Recently on breakfasttelevision , with Matteo alongside me, I shared some of my favourite ways to make homemade school snacks actually manageable even when life is busy.
A few of my go-to tips:
✨ Pick one day and batch bake for the week ahead
✨ Muffins are perfect for doubling the recipe, enjoy some now and freeze the rest
✨ Choose simple, reliable recipes made with ingredients that are easy to find and that you likely already have at home
✨ Let your kids help choose what you bake. If they pick something they actually like, there’s a much better chance it comes home eaten!
✨ And when you can, get them into the kitchen with you. It turns prep into time together and gives them a little ownership over what goes into their lunchbox
Back-to-school season is busy enough. A little planning and a freezer stocked with homemade favourites can make those hectic mornings just a little bit easier. ❤️

Long weekend loading…☀️
One last long weekend before we unofficially say goodbye to summer… and I plan on soaking up every last little bit of it.☀️
Good food, good company, hopefully a little sunshine… and maybe something sweet in there too.😉

Peach Crumble Coffee Cake 🍑
I’d keep this one fairly light, delicious and engaging:
September may be here… but I’m not ready to say goodbye to summer baking just yet. 🍑🤎
This Peach Crumble Coffee Cake was one of the recipes I created for a TV appearance earlier this summer, and it feels like the perfect bake for this little in-between season.
Sweet, juicy peaches baked into a soft, tender cake and topped with a buttery crumble, basically summer meeting cozy baking in the very best way.
Because before we move into all things apple, cinnamon and eventually pumpkin… I think peaches deserve one last moment. 🍑

There’s just something about a warm slice of Chocolate Chip Banana Loaf that never gets old🍌🍫
