Kelly’s Galway Native Oyster
This Oyster is one that speaks of Ocean. Specifically
generally have an earthy, dry tannic finish on them - Ocean. Champagne, Chablis to match.
The Galway, however somehow captures the air of the West - when I open these shells, I can close my eyes, and inhale the rugged sea breeze of or . This, my Oystery friends is Merroir - a taste of place between two shells. The Kelly’s Galway, “Raised in the Salt water of Galway bay, sweetened by spring water, from the Fields of Athenry”
Pint of please,
A oyster when season permits.
If ye can’t get to Ireland yet, We can import them into Canada - around October - when the Oyster is ready to travel.

Bake some Bread - at home -

Irish Brown Bread.
Wheaten Bread - rustic wholesome nourishing. A “workers bread” a bread to eat that gives strength to work the day - in the fields, on the water, at the office.
The smell is incredible when you first cut into a loaf - warm, nutty, earthy with a tang from the buttermilk - unlike other breads. Smells like Ireland. Easy to make - fresh daily - as a Mammy would.
2cups WholeWheat flour
1/2 cup White flour
1/2 cup Bran
1tsp soda
1 tbsp melted butter
14 fl oz Buttermilk
-combine dry, add wet, mix and knead into a round - or place on a buttered loaf pan
Bake at 350°F - 35-40 min. Check for doneness - dry toothpick test.
Allow to cool - needs only quality butter - perhaps a marmalade after the 3rd slice.

Throw a log on the fire (Turf if you have) and enjoy the day - at Home - a traditional KitchenParty - there’s nothing finer - Family around, telling stories, celebrating life.
Today StPats2020 I’ll be ShuckinAround at home - thinking of the Publicans and Restauranteurs that are shuttered today - but will be there for us tomorrow (or whenever they are allowed to open) - Thoughts of Ireland, and celebrating CelticCulture through Storytelling - as a Seanchaí will do.
