We first opened Urban Herbivore in the heart of Kensington Market, May 2005. Over these past 17 amazing years, we have expanded to 4 locations within Toronto including The Eaton Centre, North America’s busiest malls (the first plant powered restaurant in a shopping complex in North America).

We’ve been there along with you for your wedding/birthday/corporate events, won countless β€œBest Of” industry awards, served millions of patrons (including celebrities and politicians from near and far), slung scores of salads, pressed mountains of paninis, and squeezed countless litres of juice.

We lead the way in biodegradable takeout packaging in the food industry, have been internationally recognized for our unique cuisine and service quality, and have had the privilege of collaborating with so many incredible community businesses and initiatives including, yoga studios, food halls, music/food festivals and fundraisers.

Our adventure even led us to making cupcakes for monkeys!! 🧁 πŸ’ Definitely part of our highlight reel!

We’ve watched our incredibly talented, dedicated and hard-working staff members grow up over the years. Some have even gone on to open their own vegan restaurants + catering businesses (and are killing it)! 🌿

And again, to all of you, our guests - new and long-standing. Our beloved community who we have made such incredible and authentic connections with. You have made this dream - a true, true dream - of ours possible for 17 years. Thank you. From the bottom of our hearts. Every connection we made will be cherished and remembered.

This isn’t goodbye forever, just goodbye for now. We never know what the future holds.

In the meantime, stay cool vegan friends. We πŸ’š and appreciate you!
