Yes, our buttermilk biscuits and brunch are a huge part of what has made Lazy Daisy's a local favourite. But for a cafe to be going strong for over fourteen years, its success goes beyond what's served up on the plate.
Here's my take on the ingredients we've added to make our east end cafe your warm n' cosy home away from home....
Lazy Daisy’s Café might be famous for its buttermilk biscuits — and yes, they are as good as everyone says — but anyone who’s spent more than five minutes here knows the biscuits are only the beginning.

This is me, early morning October 2011, unlocking the doors to Lazy Daisy’s Café for the very first time 🌼
I remember the nerves, the excitement, and the very real question: will anyone walk in?
Fourteen years later, Lazy Daisy’s Café has been named a Canadian Choice Award winner for Best Diner in Toronto — and my heart is full.
This recognition belongs to our community.
To the guests who’ve made us part of their mornings, milestones, and everyday routines.
To the team who shows up with care, pride, and consistency.
To everyone who believes in local, natural, homemade food — thank you.
Nothing about building Lazy Daisy’s has been solo. It’s been shared, collective, and built one (extra)ordinary day at a time.
We’ll keep doing what we’ve always done: bringing the warmth of the countryside to the city, serving locally sourced, homemade food, and staying rooted in gratitude.
💛
