Bread is the cornerstone of the Italian table—and the very reason Sud Forno was born. Fascinated by the art of bread making, Cosimo decided to bring this craft in-house to be able to offer all his guests an artisanal bread, both with their meals and to be taken home. Knowing little about bread-baking, he found a master baker in Italy to come and teach us how it’s done. After months of experimenting, the first sourdough bread got the seal of approval as well as a number of other varieties and in 2013, our first official bakery, just a few steps down from the original Terroni on Queen Street, was born 🍞

For those using public transport, take the TTC Queen 501 streetcar and get off at Bathurst Street. From there, walk one block west on Queen Street and you will arrive at your destination.

If you're driving, take Gardiner Expressway to Spadina Avenue and head north to Queen Street West. Turn left onto Queen Street West and continue until you reach your destination. There is limited street parking available but there are several paid public parking lots in the area.

Using their own mother yeast, which is left to ferment naturally at high temperatures, Sud Forno's loaves are traditional and unlike any other bread you'll find outside of Italy. The pastries and gelato are also worth mentioning - they're simply divine! If you appreciate good bread as much as we do, then Sud Forno Queen is definitely worth a visit.
