Two years, is that right? Woooow!
Two years of tacos across the bar, margaritas on the table, familiar faces walking through the door…
Some of you have been here since the beginning. Some found us somewhere along the way. And some walked in for the first time just last week.
To everyone who has shared a meal, brought a friend, ordered dinner, sat at our bar, celebrated something with us, or simply came back:
Thank you!!!
These two years have been full of good food, long nights, new friendships and more great moments than we could possibly fit into one post.
We’ve loved being part of this neighbourhood.
Here’s to two years of El Hijo de Tizoc, and everything still to come.

The World Cup
México has hosted three World Cups. In 1970 Brazil got crowned with the first one and 1986 Argentina got it after the hand of God (Maradona) scored in the quarter final against England; I meant they defeated Germany in the final.
Hosting the world cup in 2026 for the third time is being the greatest experience ever.
When I was a kid I was told that our football league has not reached the standards of the South American or European soccer competitions, and as a teenager I was yelled at because we were not at the level of these powerful countries.
To make matters worse, yesterday someone came across to thank me for hosting the games at Tizoc and reminded me that sadly we are never going to hold the World Cup in our hands no matter how many times we hosted it. So I said………Y Si, Si?

Steak tacos today instead of yesterday - Why not?
A generous amount of “top sirloin” shows up at the party and starts the dance on the flat top. Suddenly the secret salt recipe joins the club with another friend….a splash of canola oil. Onions have arrived through the front door and get pushed into the drama. The pressure is on, and DJ chef turns up the volume while all the juices and steam started flowing out. Four tortillas come out of nowhere to witness the event. Everybody is dancing. What a feast. The red carpet has landed to elevate the atmosphere to the next stage as green snow (aka cilantro) comes down to spread the love on top of the guests. But hold on! Spicy salsa and lime pull over and jump into the pool. This is madness. What a Fiesta!!!!
