Food reveals our connection with the Earth. Each bite contains the life of the sun and the Earth…we can taste and see the whole universe in a single piece of bread!

Words by Thich Nhat Hanh

When making cakes and desserts for The Raw Cub I think about how important it is to use non processed ingredients. The nutritional value, colour and texture provided by Mother Earth inspires me to keep ingredients in some of their purest forms and find happiness offering & eating desserts this way.

We don’t need to create rules around what we should or shouldn’t eat, or be told it’s shameful or bad.

Instead food is beautiful and connects us with nature, people and cultures, food should bring us happiness.

We have a very important ROAR!!

If you haven’t heard by now The Rawlioness is expecting a baby cub to be joining the family!

This little plant-based bundle looks like it might be sooner than expected, and therefore means the store will be going on a hiatus till the New Year, (with exciting new changes!)

As always these things never go as planned, but please know we will be in store this week:
13th October - 16th October (our last official day for the year), offering up as many regular items as we can make.

We can’t truly find the words to THANK YOU ALL, and our community (especially those in The Junction), for constantly showing up, supporting us, buying our food, getting us through Covid, and offering us joy, laughter and gifts (our favourites have been straight from your gardens!)

You have all become part of a very special Whanau (family) that I & am honoured to know.

Please know this is not goodbye, but ‘Kia tutaki ra ano ta maua hoa’ (till we meet again my friend) 💕💕💕
