Rest in peace, Franco.

This week we lost our partner, our leader, and someone every one of us at The Carbon Bar looked up to. Franco Prevedello helped create The Carbon Bar, and he was genuine with everyone on this team, from the kitchen to the floor.

Over six decades Franco helped shape how Toronto eats and drinks, from Centro, Pronto, Nota Bene, Splendido and so many other restaurants. But his real legacy is the people. He touched so many lives, and he was endlessly generous with his time, his advice and his belief in others. So many chefs and restaurateurs in this city are where they are because Franco took the time. With his wife Barbara, he also founded Second Harvest, a cause we’re proud to support through Shop the Carbon Bar.

Today, as his family and friends say goodbye, we raise a glass to him. Our hearts are with Barbara, Bobbie, Kate and the whole Prevedello family.

Grazie di tutto, Franco. You will be missed more than words can say.

To get to Queen Street East in Toronto via public transport, you can take the 501 streetcar from Union Station or the subway (Line 1) to Queen Station and transfer to the 501 streetcar going eastbound. Get off at the intersection of Queen Street East and Parliament Street, and you will be close to your destination. Alternatively, you could also take a taxi or rideshare service for convenience.

If you are driving, take the Gardiner Expressway E and exit onto Jarvis Street. Turn left onto Front Street East and then right onto Parliament Street. Turn left onto Queen Street East, and there are several paid parking lots available in the area. Be sure to check for parking restrictions before leaving your car.
