Just realized I never posted my sons 8th birthday cake. It was the second Minecraft cake I have made and I was dreading it but he went with the Minecraft movie so it was more about texture which made it so much more fun then tiny squares haha 😂

So it was Eva’s big 10! Finally in double digits !
She wanted cartoon frogs this year. Not sure why she’s terrified of real ones. The top layer was vanilla with Oreo cookie filling and the bottom as always was Aaron’s choice cause his birthdays the day after. He chose a lemon cake and strawberry buttercream.

Made some cupcakes for a bridal shower. Vanilla cupcakes with strawberry buttercream. The colour scheme rocked!

Well I am super late so I will try to spread them out. Here is a collection of my daughters cakes as well as this years. She designs them and sometimes if possible participates in a few elements her cake this year was a Nom Nom it was a cartoon from a few years ago. I always try to remember the age by putting it on the cake somewhere but I forgot a few times so it’s hard to get the order right.

Finally got to make a cake for my husband. He picked out everything he wanted. It was a vanilla cake with lemon cream cheese filling and a chocolate cake with salted caramel icing. The little paper plane was a hat tip to his career as a pilot. Loved it simple but bold. And yes I did get everything covered in either black icing or gold speckles.

So I thought this year I would do a through the years. My oldest is 13 now and this year I got to do a curling do over as his 11th was during covid and a kitchen reno so we could only do individual cakes. Anyone have questions feel free to post and I will do my best to answer.
