PROGRESS UPDATES on the new Little Ghosts Workshop Space! ✨
Little Ghosts is soooo close to opening up a Little Ghosts House dedicated to book clubs, Work in Progress nights, crafting workshops, writing classes, short film screenings… and more! Formerly nervously referred to as the “Murder Shed” behind the shop, this year we give this spot a major glow-up. New foundation, new walls, new roof… it looks like some of our Pride programming might happily bounce into this brand new room we raised to home our community.
Our fundraiser is still up to help us cover the last of the costs currently running (siding, air conditioning, doors, furnishing…) Link in the bio if you want to contribute, and BIG thanks to everyone who already did and made this build possible!! We couldn’t have done it without all the support.
Cannot wait to announce our workshop warming party coming soon. 🖤👻

Book Signing Alert!
Join us Sunday May 31 for a signing of COVEN OF THE EAST. Rekindle your magic, rewrite the myth with 5 of the 22 contributing writers of this great collection.
In Coven of the East, twenty-two writers from across the Asian diaspora come together to reclaim, reimagine, and resurrect the magical traditions often erased from mainstream narratives. Through short stories and essays, these contributors explore the intimate ways mysticism, folklore, and ancestral wisdom shape their characters’ lives — and their own.
Magic isn’t just in myths. It lives in the networks of nature and in our histories. When we reveal our power in stories and in our daily lives, we are able to reclaim it. Magic and wisdom are our birthrights.
Structured as a Heroine’s Journey through the major arcana, this genre-bending anthology celebrates the complexity of Asian diaspora feminine power. The voices within are playful, fierce, reverent, and wild. Whether rooted in family rituals or fantasy realms, each piece answers a shared call: to remember and reshape what magic means, and to honor the legacies of women who wrote, led, healed, and resisted.
See you Sunday! 🖤👻📚

Q***r fears is getting 🌶️ SAUCY chilli 🌶️ in May!
We’re reading Q***R WEREWOLVES DESTROY CAPITALISM ! Join us for snacks and chats May 29th at 6pm about this great little collection of gay smutty paranormal goodness.
Sexy, capitalism-defying adventures take you around the galaxy in this debut collection of five high-heat erotic short stories by MJ Lyons. A pack of werewolves tear through downtown Toronto to protest cruel treatment of workers, led by a werewolf & witch couple who are equally passionate about the cause and each other. From charnel landscapes to q***r utopias, from the crepuscular cruising grounds of 19th century Paris to the urban werewolf hunting grounds of 21st century Toronto, from the tender to the consentacled, these tales of unapologetically q***r, unabashedly smutty speculative fiction will thrill, titillate, and delight.

Author Signing Alert!
We’ll be joined by this Saturday for a signing event for THE DUMMY.
Walter finds a ventriloquist dummy. A childhood dream come true.
But things begin to shift. Time slips, shadows move, and the line between old trauma and outside influence thins. The dummy sits still through it all.
Watching. Smiling.
What follows is a spiral into ancient horror, obsession, and fractured faith, as Walter uncovers The Dummy’s purpose. Whatever lives behind that painted grin has plans for him, and they reach far beyond one broken mind.

Looking to join Little Ghosts Book Club in May?
We’re doing a Little Ghosts Book club first and reading a nonfiction from a favourite writer! was in Toronto at the reference library about PARTIALLY DEVOURED, and we had so much fun that we stocked these signed copies for you to read and discuss with us.
A New York Times bestselling author dives into a horror movie classic to examine his favorite film’s importance to our history, culture, and psychology, creating a perfect blend of research and memoir in the vein of Quentin Tarantino’s Cinema Speculation. Daniel Kraus first saw George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead when he was five years old. Through watching it approximately three hundred times since, Kraus discovered the many ways the film is tied to his childhood trauma and how its influence has carried into his adulthood. He couldn’t help but Are there other admirers of the film out there who feel the same?
Partially Devoured uses a frame-by-frame deep dive into Night of the Living Dead to produce a kaleidoscopic cultural investigation of the film’s importance and to examine the author’s early life of rural isolation and local violence.
Careening from film analysis to rabbit-hole tangents, Partially Devoured will take readers from screaming laughter to the depths of grief, all while illustrating how a beloved genre film has woven itself into so many facets of our lives.
*** BONUS ACTIVITY *** watch the movie before book club and share your experiences of the film!
See you Friday May 22nd at 6pm.

Q***R FEARS, the Little Ghosts’ Gay Book Club, is reading AFTERBIRTH!cleary_
For fans of Nightbitch , Motherthing , and Baby Teeth, a “mommy horror” masterpiece as hypnotic as it is terrifying.
A fractured sisterhood. A disturbing transformation. A desperate obsession.
Abandoning the ruins of her stalled life after an ill-omened romance, Brooke flies to Vancouver to care for her estranged sister, Izzy, who is recovering from reproductive surgery. But Izzy’s rapidly decaying apartment building, its hallways stalked by an ominous crone known only as Medusa, offers little of the refuge Brooke craves.
Seeking solace in the horror movies her ex-girlfriend loved, Brooke soon finds traces of horror bleeding from the screen into their lives. As old wounds reopen, strange forces begin to exert their power over the sisters, culminating in an unexpected and inexplicably accelerating pregnancy that will lock Brooke and Izzy in a nightmarish rivalry, and send one of them spiraling into dangerous obsession.
