Wondered what the Chris ! designed stickers included in the Subscription Boxes (or solo in Sticker Club) look like?
We tried to photograph them all… and had a really hard time! After years of dropping two new ones every month, the collection has gotten quite vast. We have ghosts (of course) and cats, bats and raccoons, grim reapers both tough and flirty, bootylicious cryptids, and more!
What will Chris drop for the next round of new stickers? Truly, we never know. And often… neither does he until the mood strikes and that pen starts moving. But all of our sketchbooks and water bottles are better for it.
Support your local art ghost!

Q***r Fears Book Club is reading SMOKE SEASON Word Horde Carrie Laben !
Twenty-something Justin Erasmus doesn’t know how he ended up in the mountains of Missoula, Montana on a commune with Adrian, his hookup from the other night. What he does know is that Adrian might help him find his estranged sister, Helen, since he and the other members of the group are devoted followers of her from afar, by way of her podcast and certain mysterious other communications. Justin himself only has hazy memories of Helen from when they were kids; he remembers her locked in a dog cage in his family’s living room and how, as though she were made of smoke, she reached her arms out to him through the bars before being sent away. A voice is telling him he needs to find her again.
But as his feelings for Adrian grow and the commune starts to feel more like home, Justin discovers he’s not the only person trying to find Helen. A shadowy government organization called The Aversion Project with a mysterious magic of their own are bent on eradicating Helen: her magic, her free thinking, her free-love community and free-living movement in favor of a more rigid, orderly, heteronormative world–and soon they’re knocking on their door... and invading their dreams. If Justin is going to find his sister and remain with his beloved new community, he’ll first have to deal with the ominous figures haunting his sister and found family.

Little Ghosts-
VINCENT WAS STOLEN!!
While we wish this was a joke or some kind of prank, a bandit came in today and stole one of our beloved sheet ghosts and took off down the street. We encourage the peaceful return of the ghosts Chris lovingly stitched himself at the start of our bookshop’s life.
So much of our store is made by hand, and it is a complete betrayal of our community space to commit any act of theft, but ESPECIALLY when it is an irreplaceable item. If this is in fact some kind of joke, we implore the thief to rethink it- we don’t find it funny.
If you see Vincent, his safe return is of deep importance to us.

For September Book Club, Little Ghosts are reading YOU WEREN’T MEANT TO BE HUMAN 🪱 Andrew Joseph White 🔪
Festering masses of worms and flies have taken root in dark corners across Appalachia. In exchange for unwavering loyalty and fresh corpses, these hives offer a few struggling humans salvation. A fresh start. It’s an offer that none refuse.
Crane is grateful. Among his hive’s followers, Crane has found a chance to transition, to never speak again, to live a life that won’t destroy him. He even met Levi: a handsome ex-Marine and brutal killer who treats him like a real man, mostly. But when Levi gets Crane pregnant—and the hive demands the child’s birth, no matter the cost—Crane’s desperation to make it stop will drive the community that saved him into a devastating spiral that can only end in blood.

Let’s celebrate some Q***r Horror, shall we?!
Come by tonight and meet Max Turner, author of The Child of Hameln & Queeird: An Anthology of Unusual Trans Masculine Erotica!
THE CHILD OF HAMELN

That remaining child, now the deputy sheriff, is left to unravel corruption and cover up when his mentor, the town sheriff, dies unexpectedly. The mystery unfolds as a snow storm blows in, threatening to isolate the town, leaving Deputy Bobby Taylor to deal with a plague of rats and the monsters, both human and fae, that follow.
QUEEIRD

Hey Little Ghosts Pals!
A message from your smoll bookshop Dad due to a large influx of stock request emails from indie authors:
When you generate an AI book cover you make the ghosts sad!
We know that money is tight and you are doing your best to wear all of the hats, and we do our best to support indie horror authors at all stages of their careers.
HOWEVER
Little Ghosts Books has a strict anti-AI policy. We will not accept or purchase any written or visual art created using AI. We’re a community of writers, filmmakers, and artists ourselves- AI use has damaged the economy and solidarity of the arts, creating the circulation of free stolen assets and devaluing the labour and creativity of working artists across all mediums. We can’t buy or host AI generated content, including books with AI generated covers.
This extends to everything Little Ghosts does in house! The Little Ghost pictured here draws our stickers, does book layout, screen prints merch, and regularly gets them hands dirty. The photos for this caption brought to you by the fact that the social media ghost is on vacation- so they aren’t as nice as they could be and were taken with the iPad camera timer.
S**t is imperfect, but it is in that mess that we make meaning. AI tech has its place, but we believe that place is NOT in the arts. If you are looking for an artist for your cover, I encourage you to reach out to us or other writing communities. There will be a real person happy to help give you the cover of your dreams, nightmares, hallucinations…
Stay scary (but not scary as in stealing the work of other artists, okay?)
