Hey everyone. As you may know, we lost our dear friend Shaun just over 2 weeks ago, and now we need your help to save his dog, Cheddar. Unthinkably, she was hit by a car just days after Shaun’s passing, then left with significant fractures in her leg and hips for over 10 days. Cheddar’s original rescuers have now regained custody of the dog, and we’re raising funds to get Cheddar the specialized surgery she needs as quickly as possible. This is a big one. Cheddar meant the world to Shaun, and if we can fix up her injuries, she can still have the happy ending Shaun so dearly wished her to have. If you’re able to donate and/or share, we would be so grateful. If you have a large platform and can get the word out, that will go a long way, too. As Shaun would always say, thank you and Dog Bless.

It is with a very heavy heart that we inform our Broadview Espresso family about the passing of one of our most treasured family members, Shaun (brother to Lauren). Shaun managed the cafe for many years, and so many of you will remember the way he lit up your mornings with his amazing energy, and genuine love for you all. You may also remember that all you heard playing on our speakers was The Strokes when Shaun was working, or seeing him sipping on his signature drink - an iced americano with cream, even in the middle of a frozen winter. At the end of his time at Broadview, Shaun decided to start his own business, Dog Hero Canine Co, and so many of your dogs became his beloved pack members. He fostered over twenty dogs, choosing to rescue only the most “hopeless” cases, and helping every one of them find loving homes. Shaun was such a rare gem of a human being. He loved getting to see and chat with all of you here at the shop, and he genuinely thought the world of just about everyone he met. We hope that in his honour, everyone who knew him will try to be more like that, too. Shaun would’ve been so heartened to know that everyone was a little more kind, generous and loving to others because they knew him.
