Thank you Toronto! ❤️ You have shown us so much attention and love since sharing the news of our closure. We appreciate everyone who travelled near and far to grab their final pint and share their stories about The Black Bull.
That said, we’ve run out of product — you’ve drunk us dry! We are sadly shutting our doors tonight ahead of the April 3rd closure. We apologize for any disappointment this causes.
We went out on a high note and can’t thank you all enough for your support over the years. We hope that you all continue to cherish your memories of The Black Bull. 🖤

The Black Bull has been a monumental part of Queen West history. It has been a place that’s evolved with the community, once serving pints to vibrant punk rockers and biker gangs to now, the neighbouring office workers and condo dwellers.
The Black Bull’s closure marks the end of an era. Queen West is changing and sadly, what was once one of biggest, sunniest patios in Toronto is cast in the shadows of high rise buildings. After the owner Bobby Taylor passed, it was time for our family to say goodbye to the corner of Queen and Soho.
We would like to thank The Black Bull staff for their dedication and commitment over the years. We are happy so many of you found your life partners at the bar. We know all of you have colourful memories to remember your time here.
We also thank everyone for their patronage over the decades. We hope you can come raise a glass to The Black Bull before it closes April 3.
The staff have made memorabilia merchandise, and all proceeds will go directly to them.
I hope the Black Bull continues to be a bar for decades to come and future owners pay homage to the buildings history.
Cheers,
Janine Bartels, on behalf of The Black Bull family

Bobby “Monk” Taylor, 84, of Toronto, lost his battle with cancer on August 20 in his home surrounded by family. He was as stubborn as always, and fought until the very end.
The family would like to thank all of the Black Bull staff for their incredible support and loyalty over the years.
Funeral services will be Sunday, August 27 starting at 12pm at Ridley Funeral Home (3080 Lake Blvd. W, Toronto). A celebration of life will follow at the Black Bull starting from 2pm.

Happy St Patrick’s Day! 🍀🇮🇪💚
The Guinness is creamy, the Jameson is flowing and the craic is mighty!
Pro tip, if you’re not a Guinness drinker, we recommend a pint of Kilkenny - less heavy but silky smooth 🇮🇪

To get to Queen Street West in Toronto, there are several public transport options available. The TTC streetcar 501/301 runs along Queen Street and stops at various points between Long Branch and Neville Park. The closest stop to the pub is likely Bathurst Street or Portland Street. You can also take the subway to Osgoode Station and walk west on Queen Street for about 15-20 minutes.
If you prefer driving, there is limited street parking available on Queen Street and the surrounding streets, but it may be difficult to find a spot during peak hours. Alternatively, there are several paid parking lots nearby, including a lot at Bathurst and Richmond Streets.
Once you reach Queen Street, look for a historic building with black exterior walls that has an inviting outdoor patio with plenty of seating. Inside there is a dimly lit bar with wooden accents where you'll find plenty of beer options to choose from.
