If you must go outside, consider securing your matcha and coffee supplies earlier in the day.

✨ Holiday Hours Update ✨

As the year comes to a close, we want to say thank you. Your support throughout this past year — especially as we transition into our new home — has meant more to us than we can put into words. Because of you, we get to continue doing what we love: serving you great coffee, matcha creating space, and building the Wu Wei community.

We’ll be taking a short pause on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day so our team can spend time with family and loved ones, rest, and recharge. We’ll be back in no time, refreshed and ready to welcome you again.

While everyone else is rushing to roll out the usual holiday drinks, we wanted to introduce something our drink developer has been quietly experimenting with for a while: red bean.

Red bean has long been a staple filling in Chinese pastries and desserts — from baked buns to mooncakes, and the neighborhood bakeries along Spadina many of us grew up with. Comforting, familiar, and deeply nostalgic.
It’s also always been a go-to flavor for us. So we started thinking about what red bean could be beyond a pastry — and how it could live in a drink that actually feels intentional.
Instead of another syrup-heavy seasonal special, we slowed things down. A deeper iced hojicha, layered with our house-made red bean paste and finished smooth with milk. Familiar in spirit, unfamiliar in form.

Not your typical holiday drink — and intentionally

But this season, we wanted to stir things up again — to share a deeper story, a more personal one inspired by the people behind the drinks. Rather than offering what’s expected for fall, we dreamed of something bold — a flavor that surprises. This creation comes from our drink creator, sharing something deeply personal with our community: a taste of her culture.

Inspired by her roots in Guayana, where tamarind sweetens both memories and seasons, this drink weaves heritage into espresso’s timeless craft. The tang of tamarind meets the depth of coffee — a dance of contrast, comfort, and warmth. And yes, the spice is still here — just in a way you never saw coming.
