happy monday.
some people start the week with plans…. Others start it with questions…. And some start it simply looking for a place to belong.
wherever you’re at, you’re welcome here.

pride at oliver.
this month… we celebrate.
we celebrate the courage it takes to be yourself in a world that has not always made that easy.
we remember those who came before us. The people who spoke up, showed up, and created space for others when doing so came with real risk.
we acknowledge that while much has changed, not everyone has the same freedom to live openly and safely. There are still barriers. There are still struggles. There are still people who cannot, or do not yet feel able to, come out.
to those people, we see you too.
at oliver, we believe good rooms matter. Rooms where people can arrive as they are. Rooms where conversations happen. Where differences are welcomed. Where nobody has to perform, explain, or hide to belong.
whether you’re celebrating proudly, supporting someone you love, questioning, exploring, remembering, or simply looking for a place to sit with a coffee and be yourself, you’re welcome here.
always.

We spend a lot of time talking about coffee, but what we’re really interested in is what happens around it.
Sometimes people see things from the other side of the bar that we don’t always see ourselves. We try to create and hold the room.
Today, Erica shared this reflection after sitting on our patio and having a moment with her father over coffee.
What struck me wasn’t just the beauty of the writing, and how it moved me; it was also the realization at the centre of it.
When oliver was being imagined, the goal was never simply to serve coffee. The main goal was to create a room. Just like my sister and I used to do growing up…A room where conversations could happen… where people could linger and where stories could be told. A room where people felt safe enough to be themselves.
The kind of room that modern life seems to leave less and less space for.
Reading Erica’s words today felt like a reminder that these small moments matter. That a conversation over coffee can still be meaningful. That people can still meet each other with honesty, vulnerability, compassion and curiosity. That’s the essence of oliver.
We do spend a lot of time talking about coffee, but like I said, what we’re really interested in is what happens around it.
The conversations…. The connections… and the relationships that quietly grow over time.
To Erica, thank you for taking the time to notice. And thank you for sharing something so thoughtful and generous.
The quiet rebellion begins in small rooms.

Indulgence, Elevated.
There’s a new reason to linger at oliver. Our Chocolate Brownies have officially landed. Handcrafted in-store every single morning, these beauties are fudgy, rich, and exactly what your coffee break has been missing.
Delivering that classic chocolate flavour with a decadent, slow-baked texture that melts in your mouth. Whether you’re looking for a midday ‘smart fuel’ or a pure afternoon indulgence, this is the one.
The Perfect Pairing:
While they go great with everything, we highly recommend pairing a brownie with a crisp, bold espresso. The dark cocoa notes and the crema of our signature roast are a match made in heaven.
Stop by the bar and grab a square (or two).
See you at Oliver!

coffee is personal.
some people want it light.
some want it bold.
most people sit somewhere in between.
at oliver, we make coffee the way you actually want to drink it … not the way someone tells you it should be.

There’s a rhythm to a wee room like this.
It starts with a coffee. Then a pause. Then something small… a glance, a laugh, a “you here again?”
And before ye notice,
the room begins to hold you.
For the chats that turn into stories.
For the quiet moments that don’t need filling. For the pages read slowly, and the ones you don’t quite get through.
Some come for craic.
Some come for stillness.
Some don’t know what they need… until they sit down.
All of it belongs here.
No judgement.
No performance.
Just come as you are.
The room will meet you there.
☕️

march, so far.
a few more familiar faces.
a few longer conversations.
a room slowly taking shape.
nothing loud—
just people coming back.
grateful for all of it.
for you.
2026-03-27
The first pull of espresso sets the tone.
Before the room fills.
Before the conversations begin.
Just pressure, time & attention.
You don’t see it… but you taste it in every cup that follows.. and that’s where the day really begins.
2026-03-26
There’s a moment that happens here more often than people realize.
You come in, take a seat, keep to yourself.
You don’t know anyone. No reason to. No expectation to.
But then you come back.
Same time, same table. Maybe just a habit at first.
And somewhere along the way, you start to notice the same faces.
A glance turns into a nod.
A nod turns into a few words.
And before you’ve really marked when it changed, there’s a bit of craic waiting for you when you walk in.
Nothing forced. Nothing loud.
Just small, human moments building on each other.
That’s how a room becomes something more than a place to sit.
That’s how strangers become familiar.
And these days, sure that kind of thing matters more than we think.
