Nico took over his family’s farm, Catalan de Las Mercedes () in Chimaltenango, Guatemala, at a young age and has been quietly doing incredible things ever since. With a background in agricultural engineering, he separates every lot by variety and obsesses over his processing — and it shows. This year we’re proud to offer two distinct coffees from the farm: Catalan Natural and Catalan Red Bourbon.

Our co-founder Andy first met Nico judging at the Cup of Excellence Guatemala in 2012 and was hooked from the first sip. More than a decade of direct trade later, this remains one of our most treasured partnerships — built on friendship, shared values, and a mutual love of exceptional coffee.

Both are Rainforest Alliance Certified™ and grown with genuine care. One easy recommendation: get both. ☕

To reach King Street W in Toronto via public transport, take the subway and get off at St. Andrew Station (Line 1). From there, walk west along King Street for a few blocks until you reach your destination.

If you're driving to the area, there are several nearby parking lots available. The closest one is located just south of King Street on Duncan Street. Another option is to park at the Toronto City Parking lot on Portland Street, just east of Bathurst Street.

Once you've parked your vehicle, walk west along King Street until you reach the café or restaurant.
